Requirement: The client had specific requirements that could enable the application to deliver the desired results. The client specifications included points mentioned below that Decos developers had to consider in order to arrive at a solution suiting the client’s need:

1. Pricing & Quotes Engine

The pricing engine should provide delayed or live quotes for the investor.

2. User Attributes & SMS Gateway

All investment advice needs to be sent to the user via SMS, Yahoo Messenger or email        medium. All SMS/E-Mail copies need to be saved in website backend where client’s team can  review it and or send revised SMS about performance.

3. Graphs & Detailed Performance

All scripts which are entered from the quotes engine need to be categorized into a number of sub-heads like industry, markets or indices a       specific script belongs to. This data needs    to be graphically represented in a manner as desired by the client. Data should not be represented for all the scripts but only a handful of them which      are in the client’s             portfolio. The investor should also be able to compare his performance with other top         traders in the product and with an average benchmark. This should be variable at all  times and should be decided by the application automatically.

4. Payment Gateway Integration & Access Rights

The payment gateway will need to be integrated with the application and further according to the          number of subscription plans should be able to decide the user permissions.

There needs to be a provision for entering all this   data and creating a user id by the application       manually from the backend.  Access rights to the    back end of the application could be awarded to   any       of client’s internal staff by the administrator.

5. Complete Web Development

The portal should not be more than 15 pages apart  from the application.

Decos analyzed the client requirement and based on that decided to have the following modules in the application, these modules would provide the functionality & features as specified by the clients:

1. Client & Advisor Module

This module should consist of 2 interfaces for the investors – which present a snapshot of    the portfolio and the comparative analysis. There should be 2 windows for the advisor which should present a group and individual overview of the advisors’ clients.

2. Different Portfolio Modules

The client had nine different        asset classes which need to be    tracked in the portfolio. The        asset classes were divided in          different portfolio modules- 3      from cash segment (stocks,        fixed income. etc.), 3 different     derivative instruments (forex,         commodities. etc.), 1 for   mutual funds, 1 for Insurance  and 1 for tracking net assets.

3. Transaction Statement & Portfolio Holdings Module

This module works as a backend brain and calculates and keeps track of what happens in the portfolio with respect to automatically adding entries for buy/sell of different asset classes.

1. Advisor Panel

This is the brain of the entire project. It is responsible for delivering customized advisory stock tips via SMS, E-Mail and Yahoo IM at the click of the button.

2. Chat Applications & Live Support

Live Support application and a chat application which is for the users to interact amongst themselves.

3. Group Management & Performance Page

The advisors can manage their client groups and issue logins and show their performance on the portal.

4. Quotes Application

This application delivers quotes either live or end of the day for the entire application.

5. Website Design & Registration Page

Registration page should allow users to   sign up for regular services on the portal and advisors by paying money.

The Dutch based Company providing 400+ training courses in software development & system & network management to professionals from ICT industry and end users turned to Decos in order to develop a custom Document Management application.

The client required an application that provided enhanced functionalities of template creation and also provided OpenOffice support.

Requirement:

The client wanted to develop a custom Document Management application that would serve both local users and remote users/clients by allowing them to add, edit and review documents. The system should also provide integration with many other Document Management Systems such as Decos, Corsa etc.

Users must have the possibility to easily import those documents into the system, keeping the original formatting as much as possible, but still, being able to manually adjust and link between inter-related documents if necessary. It is also important to be able to manage different user groups within the organization and define permissions for each group and also specific users.

Decos Solution:

The solution identified by Decos team was to create a web application which can be accessed via a standard web browser by all users (remote as well as local) and still have the same rich UI.

The preferred choice for development of the application was Silverlight 3.0. The same source code would be used to generate a web-based Silverlight application as well as a “fat client” Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) desktop application. The web server runs inside the server appliance.

The Document Management application offers the same rich, intuitive and familiar user interface whether the application is used locally on the desktop or accessed remotely via the web. Users can access the application from both Windows & Mac clients.

The application provides enhanced functionalities of template creation and also provides OpenOffice support. User can create and manage his documents using dotx and odt templates.

As specified by the client in the requirement the application provides the feature for creating groups with specific access permissions & document modification permissions. The offered solution was also able to incorporate the requirement of handling multiple users’ access level within the organization.

According to the client requirement it also provides integration with many Document Management Systems like Decos, Corsa etc.

The application offers rich user experience that was traditionally reserved only for desktop applications. By utilizing Silverlight, this rich user interface is now available via the browser.

The Result:

Decos team built a rich desktop-like UI for web in the given time frame for this project. In terms of user experience, the rich-UI and the responsiveness of the interface allowed the client a user experience that feels and behaves like a desktop application. The client’s users and customers received a web application that can be accessed from any standard browser but still uses the same UI and at the same time allows them to add, edit and review documents as per access permissions/user rights. The application allowed easy integration with many other Document Management Systems as well.

Business Case:
A Sweden based ICT Company were facing a problem in archiving of invoice message (TIFF files). They had to do many manual processes for the archiving which required automation.
Requirement:
The requirement of the client was to create a custom pipeline component in BizTalk to support archiving of invoice message (TIFF files). The proposed solution has to interact over secure FTP (SFTP). The invoices have to be transferred to the second party and acknowledgement of the receipt is to be recorded. If there is any error in the process then it has to be notified by email. A strict requirement was that the invoice and accompanying files should be transferred as a single set. If there is any error then the sending of invoice should be cancelled and notified by email.
Decos Solution:
BizTalk Pipelines allow you to customize the processing of XML documents received or sent via the various BizTalk adapters. Custom Pipeline components extend the behavior of Pipelines to include processing data of virtually any format. They can be a powerful solution if you support legacy systems that require integration with other products, but your legacy data format does not follow standards. It may contain carriage returns in odd places or records spanning any number of lines of text, for example. The only stipulation is that the data emerging from the Custom Pipeline must be some form of XML document.

The client’s requirement was to build custom pipeline component in BizTalk to support archiving of invoice message. The invoices which were TIFF files were generated at the client’s side.
First step taken by Decos Team was creation of windows services to interact with SFTP server at source and destination sides. And then the Enhancements to third-party nSoftware component were done to search/create directories recursively.
To complete a Pipeline, one or more Pipeline components from within Visual Studio .NET were needed to be selected and then they can be added to the Pipeline. None of the existing BizTalk Pipeline components satisfied the client requirements, so Decos had to build a custom pipeline component.
A custom pipeline component for archiving the invoices was created.
After creating the custom Pipeline component, the pipeline was deployed to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006\Pipeline Components directory so the custom Pipeline component can be added to the Pipeline in the BizTalk 2006 project. After deploying the custom Pipeline component, the component was added to the Pipeline component toolbar.
The logic in BizTalk Orchestrations was implemented to ensure that files are received as a single set and error conditions are detected and notified.

The Result:
